This book is a fun, accessible guide to getting children excited about growing their own food, packed with colourful illustrations and down-to-earth tips. Whether you’re a parent, carer, teacher, or just someone who wants to nurture a child’s love of nature, this guide is perfect for encouraging little green fingers to get stuck in.

Why I Wrote This Book

As a mum, a gardener, and someone passionate about wellbeing, I’ve always believed that nature can teach us so much. Gardening has helped me and my children through some really difficult times; it’s grounding, therapeutic, and well, it just makes me smile every day. I wanted to create something that reflects that magic and helps children feel confident and curious in the garden, no matter how small their space.

The book is designed to be simple and inspiring, filled with:

  • Fun facts about veggies and how they grow
  • Step-by-step guides for planting and caring for favourite crops
  • Activities that combine creativity, mindfulness, and nature

What Makes This Book Different?

The Children’s Guide to Vegetable Gardening isn’t just a how-to manual; it’s an invitation. An invitation to slow down, dig deep, and discover the joy of growing. It’s child-friendly but also honest and realistic because we know that sometimes seeds don’t sprout, slugs pay a visit, or the weather has other ideas!

This book encourages kids (and the adults supporting them) to enjoy the process, not just the harvest. It’s about resilience, patience, and play.

If you’re looking for an educational, eco-friendly, and screen-free gift for birthdays, school holidays, or just because, this book makes a lovely present. It pairs beautifully with a few packets of seeds and a small plant pot to get them started.

I’d love for you to have a look at the book here on Amazon, and if you’ve got a young gardener in your life, feel free to share it with them.
